EuroCham: 2nd Meeting of National Council for Minimum Wage

On August 29, 2024, Mr. CHHEAV Narath, Managing Director of ING Law Office, and EuroCham Chairman of HR Committee, attended the 2nd meeting of the National Minimum Wage Council (NMWC). The members of the council continue to discuss in order to determine the minimum wage in textiles, garments, footwear, and travel products and bags for 2025. 

In this second meeting, the employer and unions proposed the following:

• The employer side proposed a wage increase of $1.

• The union's side proposed a wage increase of 14$.

Once again, the employers continued to express their concern about the higher logistic cost, which remains a big issue for the businesses. 

The next (3rd) round of the discussion is scheduled to be on 6th September 2024.
